Of course I love to sit back and watch DVDs whenever I can. Although I must admit that I have only owned a DVD player for about three years now. My collection of DVDs is not yet as large as my book or CD stash, but it is getting there. Like any good student of film, I have favorites that I return to again and again for various reasons. I study everything from the classics of cinema to contemporary "popcorn" films. The DVDs listed here inspire, entertain, and enlighten me. Films have the power to touch us and open our eyes to new people and perspectives that we may not otherwise encounter. I hope that you will find something here that touches you as well

Six Feet Under - The Compltete First Season Six Feet Under - The Complete First Season

Written, created, and directed by Alan Ball, this HBO series follows the lives of the Fishers, a five-member family whose already dysfunctional lives are turned upside-down in the first episode. Did I mention that the family also runs a funeral home? This show blends dark comedy with drama in a way that is rarely achieved on TV today. All 13 episodes from the first season are included in this boxed set, as well as several extras. The acting, writing, directing, and cinematography are all excellent.
